Family Note:   Nathaniel Guest (b. 1707) along with his older brother, Christopher, (b.1705) went into business together and bought a sailing boat, called "The Two Brothers." to enable them to trade with England. But their business failed and they left Maryland in 1745, going first to western North Carolina where they and their families lived the rugged life of frontier settlers.

#4 child: This Joshua Guest (b.1740) is believed to be the father of the Joshua Guest (b.1789 ---my 3rd great grandfather), who moved into Columbia, Tn. around 1812. In 1772 he (the elder Joshua) was granted a license to keep a Tavern at his house. Late in life this Joshua moved to eastern Tn. and lived on the French Broad Rover. He served as Justice of the Peace in Sevier County, just south of Knoxville and just north of the Smokey Mts.

sons # 6 & 7,Joseph & Thomas are listed in the narrative that Gareth wrote for his grandson

This info I got from Gareth Guest (my cousin) in LaJolla, Ca. July 2005
