Family Note:   In 1679 Christopher Guest (Gist) & his wife, Edith Cromwell along with Edith's three brothers, Richard, William and John Cromwell, arrived in Maryland from England. They purchased several hundred acres of land in Baltimore Co. and became well-established planters. After Christopher died, Edith remarried , was widowed again, married again and then died. Their son, Richard, then went to live with his Uncle Richard Cromwell.
